7. Continue Reading and Learning More Skills
I previously said that you need to focus and specialize your skills to be able to increase your rate. That’s true but that doesn’t mean you’ll get stuck with it for the rest of your life.
Web development is an ever changing world. A lot of new technologies are emerging every now and then and you don’t want your skills to be left out in the trend.
One smart way to approach this is, again, have your specialty in one field and once you gain the confidence to present yourself as an expert in a skill or set of skills, study the current trend and specialize on that next stet of skills.
This way, you will always have fresh skills that are marketable. Always have this contingency plan with your web development skills because you can never tell if there’s going to be a game changing technology that will pop out anytime soon.
8. Delegate overflowing works
Once you gained authority in what you’re doing, you’ll notice that the clients will be the ones looking for you. There will be times that you cannot work with all of them and you don’t want to simply say no and lose the opportunity to earn from those clients.
What you can do is to find good developers that can deliver the requirements of your clients. You can delegate the tasks to them and get a cut for every project you’ll pass them. You would still be able to earn from all of your clients even if you’re not the whose actually working.
This is actually a good start to create your web design and development agency. You can start with few people then later on create a company where all of your employee will be the ones working for you. You can dive away from development works and focus on project management tasks instead.
This way, you can earn huge amount of money with only supervising and managing your people while traveling around the world.
That’s it for now! I’ll add more valuable tips in this post soon so try to check this blog regularly. If you think this post helped you in some ways, please share it with your awesome friends! They might need this too.
